Instructions:

1. Click on your selection for each of the NFL games. We are playing against the spread.
2. You will receive a confirmation of your selections on the screen, and I will receive an email with your selections. Sorry, I don't have a way to have your selections emailed back to you, but you can copy/paste your selections into a file.
3. Each week in The Sports Bar Newsletter, I will publish the results for the week and for the season.
4. Remember, this is for fun only. No wagering, please. I've already been investigated once by the Ivy League and the NCAA; I don't need that trouble again.

What is The Spread?

The Spread in football is a sort of "handicapping," which is supposed to even the playing field (so to speak). As such, your selecting the worst team in football -- Indianapolis -- is supposed to be equally as good a pick as picking their opponent, To determine the winner of a game using The Spread, you either add or subtract those The Point Spread to the favorite or underdog.

How Picking Against The Spread Works:
Indianapolis Colts (+6)
at Green Bay Packers

If the actual score of the game winds up being Packers 20, Colts 17, the Colts actually WON the game Against The Spread, because the final score for betting purposes is Colts 23, Packers 20.

-OR- Indianapolis Colts
at Green Bay Packers (-6)

If the actual score of the game winds up being Packers 20, Colts 17, the Colts actually WON the game Against The Spread, because the final score for betting purposes is Colts 17, Packers 14.

As you can see, you can either ADD the points (+6) to the underdog (the Colts), or you can SUBTRACT the points (-6) from the favorite (the Packers). Either way, the Colts won the game Against The Spread, and you hopefully picked the Colts.
